friendly and accommadating staff, food was good and location excellent.i have stayed here several times

having stayed with you several times over the past 10 years i now find that the clarence has gone 'down hill' it needs a re-vamp to bring it back upto the levels of the morrison - where it was when i first started using it. the room was ok, no soap !! in the box - walls looked dirty,

We were celebrating a wedding anniversary and going to a show in Dublin. Hotel was fabulous. Clean rooms, efficient staff, overall an enjoyable experience.

I loved the location in the Temple Bar district ( and yes we were prepared for it to be noisy late at night!). The hotel itself has real old world charm along with contemporary room decor which all works well together. Only had breakfast there which was a bit on the pricey side. Bit confusing when we saw a blackboard being carried out with breakfast special on it which we weren't offered and we were the only ones breakfasting at that time! Would stay there again.

      The staff were freindly

The room wasnt cleaned proparly no tea and coffe facilities 1 champine glass instead of 2. charged credit card without asking ( we asked to pay cash and were told it was alreaady charged to the credit card)

I took my wife to The Clarence for our first year anniversary ,we had a great stay the staff were excelent ,the location was ideal it was dead central to Temple Bar.

The room could be a little cheaper or at least have breakfast included but an extra 20 quid per person for breakfast is a bit steep!

The staff were all great and the location is excellent, right near lots of bars and restaurants. There is also a nice bar and restaurant on site.

Expected it to be a little bit more modern inside.

Hotel staff all friendly and couldn't to enough for you. Rooms were clean although very warm.

      Location

First night room 405 with a disco outside the window until the early hours, rang and complained and was moved to room 310 the next day. This room faced a busy street of bars and clubs and actually had less levels of glazing than 405! Staff uninterested, sat in the tea room for 40 minutes before having to ask for service. Then recieved battered smoke cod and cold chips, and apple crumble at the same time...which was obviously stone cold by the time the fish and chips had been picked over...very poor in all areas.

there was no tea or coffee equiptment in the room ,for the price of the room i was very dissapointed. we have stayed in cheaper and got better value, for example complimentry chocs in room.most people like a cup of twa first thing in the morning, also we backed onto temple bar and for a wednesday night it was very noisey.

      location

25 euros a night parking is very expensive my room was at the rear of the hotel and there is a disco every thurs friday and saturday which makes a lot of noise until 3.30am and you cannot sleep

Attractive, classy hotel in an excellent location adjacent to the Temple Bar district. Accommodating friendly staff. Very comfortable.

The river view room we had on the fourth floor was a little warm and stuffy--the air circulation was poor. The situation was improved with the window opened at top and bottom, but in warmer weather this could be a real problem..

The best aspect of our stay at The Clarence was without a doubt the staff. They were extremely helpful, friendly and polite at all times.

Unfortunately, the view from our room was disappointing and the overall decor generally of the hotel was uninspiring.

    • Older travelers

      1) Attitude of all staff, but especially that of Jacob the night porter who splendidly looked after me as an insomniac. 2) Complimentary updating of room upon checking in.3) Standard of cleanliness.

Nowhere comfortable to sit and read (eg a sofa) in the lounge. My wife wakes up at a conventional time:8 am. I am obliged to get up to avoid disturbing her at about 3am. So I take reading material downstairs with me, but in the hope of recovering some of those 5 hours of lost sleep by dozing through some of that time. This was not possible in the 100% upright seats in the lounge. Consequently it was not possible to enjoy my day in Dublin to the extent that I had hoped.

    • Older travelers
      7.8

The location was wonderful. The hotel is very trendy in design and extremely secure in that you cannot get in the elevator without a room key. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was large with a spacious bathroom.

We had no air conditioning and our room was quite stuffy. At night, the noise from the Temple Bar area behind the hotel was loud enough to keep us awake for most of the night. I would recommend this hotel, only if the rooms were far from the noise.

    • Older travelers
      10.0

The location was great and all the staff friendly.Interesting decor, comfortable room.

Room did not have air condtioning or individual control. Room was stuffy so had to open window and it was quite noisy below (partying in the Temple Bar area)
